Empty Bowls

CALL FOR BOWLS: We are currently seeking donations of handmade or hand-glazed bowls for our first annual Empty Bowls Dinner (more info to follow). West Chester Friends School families, friends, neighbors and interested community groups can help by glazing bowls at The Painted Plate!

The Painted Plate is offering a discounted price of $11* to glaze a bowl for our event from November 16 to 30 and December 30 to January 13. Please mark all bowls glazed for this event with WCFS Empty Bowl. There is no need to return to pick up your glazed/fired bowl as a representative from the school will be picking up all bowls made for this event.

*no additional coupons or discounts will be accepted and bowls made for
personal use will be charged regular price

RESOLVE TO FIGHT POVERTY

West Chester Restaurants Supporting Our Shelters and Food Cupboards

In observance of National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week
November 10 - 17, 2012

The following restaurants will donate a portion of your meal check to West Chester shelters and food cupboards:

Avalon: 312 South High Street
Tuesday, November 13 & Wednesday, November 14
20% of dinner ~ Must present coupon to server.

Iron Hill: 3 West Gay Street
Tuesday, November 13
20% of lunch or dinner (meal and non-alcoholic beverages before tax)
Must present coupon to server.

Landmark Americana: 158 West Gay Street
Monday, November 12
25% of total check... all day!
Must present coupon to server.

All proceeds will be divided equally among the shelters at Friends Association, Safe Harbor and the Salvation Army AND the food cupboards at ACT in Faith of Greater West Chester, The Salvation Army, St. Agnes Outreach Services and West Chester Food Cupboard.
